Putney Vale Official Visit Marks Start On Site
Published 9 September 2024
Following our recent appointment to deliver 14 new homes for the London Borough of Wandsworth within the existing Putney Vale Estate, we were delighted to welcome local Councillor Aydin Dikerdem to site to mark the start of this project.
Our site team and MD Steve Juson were pleased to meet with Cllr Dikerdem to talk him through the construction plans for the scheme, which will contribute towards the council’s plans to deliver 1000 affordable homes under their current housing commitments.
Putney Vale will be the third project we have been contracted to deliver under this programme and we are pleased to continue to collaborate with the housing delivery team to work towards achieving their ambition to bring quality, sustainable homes to its residents.
In addition to the delivery of this new 4-storey block, we will also be undertaking improvement works to the area, which will include a new bicycle storage facility, additional parking and the installation of a children’s play area, alongside other associated hard and soft landscaping works.
Our MD Steve Juson commented:
“We are really pleased to get construction underway at Putney Vale and are delighted to mark the occasion with a visit from Cllr Dikerdem. We have built a strong, highly collaborative relationship with the delivery team at Wandsworth Council and are thrilled to be able to continue to play our part in positively transforming the local area and bringing additional affordable homes to the borough.”
Aydin Dikerdem, Cabinet Member for Housing, visited the sites to officially launch each project. He said:
"We are building new council rent homes across the borough and small sites like this are a vital part of the Homes for Wandsworth programme, delivering quality homes on compact plots of land. Every new home built is a fresh start for a family and helps to reduce council housing waiting lists."
"Not only that, but every development will also deliver improvements to the local area with, for example, new landscaping, play areas and community facilities."
This project is due for completion in 2025. We look forward to bringing further updates on this scheme as construction progresses.
